The specialized clinic investigates and treats patients with glomerulonephritis who have been referred by a nephrologist or a family doctor who has tested for and found large amounts of protein and/or blood in the patient’s urine. Because the disease is serious and can lead to end-stage renal disease (in some cases, within months or even weeks), the diagnosis and management of the disease is crucial. They treat glomerulonephritis occurring on its own or secondary to a systemic condition, such as vasculitis.
